The New Protagonist Cohort was a standout over more generic trainings I’ve done. The strong curriculum helped me to quickly get a sense of what I was doing wrong and the changes I needed to make. The speakers and trainers were excellent, and because they are part of progressive/rights movements their bespoke feedback and nuanced perspective was particularly helpful. The standout trainings for me were the broadcast media interview training with NEON, and the audit of my online presence — which in 10 minutes gave me clarity on my blindspots and changes I could make immediately.

The New Protagonist cohort is packed with useful tips to help you tell your story better to make the impact you want. If you’re intimidated by press work or just think it isn’t worth your time, think again - with this training you’ll be ready to jump into the mix and share better, more useful stories with the world - about AI hype, tech in general, and other topics too.

It was great to meet people and everything we did was valuable. The cohort was an enlightening experience, especially the Broadcast Media Interview Training, which was truly engaging and well thought out. I also really needed the Online Presence Audit, which made me restructure the way I look online. The 1:1 messaging support from Jane was another highlight. Jane knows how to deliver her message and I really enjoyed this session. The team at Computer Says Maybe know how to do their work!

The cohort was great. I enjoyed meeting with and learning about people’s work, and found the feedback affirming and helpful for building confidence. It was a major insight to have my Online Presence Audit from another set of eyes who took the time to get what I was working on, and showed me how much control I actually have over these things that I didn’t know. The appraisal of my website was fantastic. I found it really helpful to simplify and streamline, and Jane was also a great listener and synthesizer. The Broadcast Media Interview Training was another highlight. It was reassuring, I loved the triangle notecard, and it was really dense in the best way.

My key messages are now more compelling, and I have clear goals for sharpening my approach to strategic storytelling. My highlight sessions as part of the NPN cohort were the 1:1 messaging support from Jane, the Online Presence Audit, and the smaller group session where we practiced delivering our key messages. I loved how practical these sessions were, with the recommended next steps being clear and actionable.  It was a great group of people to share space with and I’d love to stay engaged and keep learning together.

I go to a lot of these kinds of trainings and this has been the best by far. Everything that was said and we did was genuinely so useful, so thank you! It was really really great to see everyone being so on it from facilitators to participants. The trainers brought highly paid expertise that you’d have to find and hire, and learning from these people was really useful. This cohort changed how I think about engaging in public conversations, and changed how I think about what I should and actually can do. Before, I thought I had to get a whole picture of everything before taking action. This was very helpful in defining the small actions you can take and then actually doing them.
